Gong Eun-tae wins the lottery and goes back to work. With 1.3 billion won in his account, he returns to the company where he has spent years working diligently. TVING's The Ordinary Jackpot follows the changes in a team leader's dealings with his bosses and colleagues once money gives him some breathing room. Its central fantasy is being able to speak up while staying employed.

Eun-tae heads Sales Team 5 at Hongsung International. The company plans to transfer the brands his team has rebuilt to other departments and assign it Laknes, a brand that has already failed in Korea. Associate Yang Jun-ho objects. When Eun-tae asks his superior to reconsider, the response is that he should control his juniors.
A chance lottery win changes what Eun-tae is willing to tolerate. His work and colleagues remain; the question is how he will deal with them now. TVING's series and episode descriptions · Opening events
Three colleagues with different stakes

Gong Eun-tae · Lee Jun-hyuk. Diligent work has earned him a fast promotion, but leading people presents a different challenge. To his staff, he can be a boss who does not listen enough. His changing relationships with the team matter as much as his newfound confidence.
Yang Jun-ho · Seo Hyun-woo. He joined the company before Eun-tae but remains an associate while his junior leads the team. Their clashes involve frustrated ambition as well as work. Jun-ho cares about his colleagues and wants the team to succeed.
Jung Seon-hyeok · Oh Dae-hwan. The head of Sales Team 4 once trained Eun-tae. Now they hold the same rank. His years of service have not brought the advancement he hoped for, and his own future complicates his relationship with his former junior. Cast discussion of their roles · Production presentation
An office drama about working together

Brand sales, meetings, negotiations and friction between colleagues occupy much of the story. The series follows people who still have jobs to do, rather than a winner spending his way into a luxurious new life. Its appeal lies in conflicting views of the same workplace and in colleagues learning to cooperate despite their differences.
Writer-director Yoon Young-bin adapted Seo In-ha's web novel. At the production presentation, he said the adaptation removes romance and concentrates on clashes between people who each believe they are doing the right thing. That description gives a useful sense of the office drama he set out to make. Production discussion

What reviewers appreciated, and what concerned them
In The Korea Times, Baek Byung-yeul praised the workplace power shifts and grounded performances. Overseas critics also engaged with the office setting. Rati Pednekar, reviewing episode one for The Review Geek on September 11, 2026, appreciated the competing perspectives of manager and staff but found the opening insufficiently gripping. Gazettely's Ayishah Ayat Toma praised managerial growth and cooperation while finding the commercial negotiations hard to assess and the family's financial pressures underdeveloped. The first review covers episode one; the second discusses events across the season. The Review Geek · Gazettely, October 2026
